The Department of Master of Computer Applications was set up in 1998 with an annual intake of 30 students and subsequently enhanced to 60 in the year 2002. The department has well-equipped laboratories with good internet facility and departmental library. The department strives to empower the students with latest technical knowledge and skills by providing them with the best teaching faculty, state of the art lab facilities, excellent research and development environment. The motivation is not just to nurture their technical skills but to inculcate dynamic professionalism to become the best software professions and entrepreneurs. The departmental forum “PRAYOG” facilitates exposure to state-of-art industrial practices. The department organizes seminar series and workshops by eminent personalities from Industry, Academia and Professional bodies to upgrade the technical and teaching skill of the staff. The department is associated with Computer Society of India, where all the MCA students and faculties possess membership, which helps them to cater to the needs of the industry by attending CSI sponsored workshop/seminars and has conducted CSI sponsored workshops on Virtualization and App building Fundamentals on Salesforce Cloud Platform. In order to build the relationship between and Industry and Academia, the department has several MOU’s, which helps the students in Internship, Projects and Placements. Every year the department organizes Inter-collegiate Technical Fest “AVYUKTA”, where the students from across the City participate in the events. The department encourages faculties and students to participate in National/International conferences to exhibit their ideas in the form of presentations and also publications in peer reviewed Journals.
The department has a team of experienced and competent faculty members. Innovative teaching techniques are used in classrooms to make teaching and learning more effective and interesting. The department is producing qualified MCA graduates and has gifted to the corporate world with highly creative, dedicated and committed professionals serving in most reputed IT Companies viz., Wipro, Infosys, Cerner, Accenture, Fidelity etc.

Programme Outcomes
  1. Foundation Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, programming logic and coding fundamentals for solution architecture and problem solving.
  2. Problem Analysis: Identify, review, formulate and analyse problems for primarily focusing on customer requirements using critical thinking frameworks.
  3. Development of Solutions: Design, develop and investigate problems with as an innovative approach for solutions incorporating ESG/SDG goals.
  4. Modern Tool Usage: Select, adapt and apply modern computational tools such as development of algorithms with an understanding of the limitations including human biases.
  5. Individual and Teamwork: Function and communicate effectively as an individual or a team leader in diverse and multidisciplinary groups. Use methodologies such as agile.
  6. Project Management and Finance: Use the principles of project management such as scheduling, work breakdown structure and be conversant with the principles of Finance for profitable project management.
  7. Ethics: Commit to professional ethics in managing software projects with financial aspects. Learn to use new technologies for cyber security and insulate customers from malware.
  8. Life-long learning: Change management skills and the ability to learn, keep up with contemporary technologies and ways of working.
  • PO1: Computational Knowledge: Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, computing specialization, mathematics, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of computing models from defined problems and requirements.
  • PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and solve complex computing problems reaching substantiated conclusions using fundamental principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.
