Overview

The training and placement cell of the college is very effectively engaged in developing the students in all needed skills and placing in top companies. Students are also apprised on a continuous basis through seminar and workshops etc. about higher learning opportunities in India and abroad. Right from the fourth semester onwards, regular training is conducted on total personality development and personal grooming of the students. Minimum 35 to 40 top companies visit to the college every year between 90% to 100% students are placed. The placement covers all branches equally including non IT branches Mechanical, Civil, IEM, Biotechnology etc and a good number of non IT companies also visit to college on a continuous basis along with IT companies. The training and placement of the college is headed by an MBA(HR) qualified training placement Director with 28 years of experience on HR/HRD related activities tasks

This has always been the mission of T&P Cell of Sir MVIT.

The T&P Cell of Sir MVIT is headed by Prof S H Khan—Director—T&P, a very experienced  HRD professional and Expert soft skill Trainer with 38+ years of vast quality experience on HRD related activities. The entire soft skill Training to our students is imparted/inculcated by Director: Training and placement   himself through 7 phased Training  module created by Director himself. The placement Scenario of the college is extremely good. The average Placement across the branches ranges between 75% to 100% and 35 to 50 select Top companies visit to college every year. We wish to update with extreme satisfaction that despite acute CORONA crisis and lock down scenario, we could manage to  place 71% students of  2020-21 batch (when corona was at its dangerous peak) in 38 top companies  and 89%  students of  2021-22 batch were placed in 47 companies.

Accenture Career Day

Accenture leadership team along with senior HR persons visited our college every year to celebrate “Accenture career day” by conducting a lot of informative events. The daylong event was attended by final and pre-final students. It was very fruitful, well planned and effectively organized event for the benefit of our students.

Best Student Award by TCS in TCS Career Day Celebration in Our College

TCS honor one best student by awarding annually from 100 top engineering colleges in India.  Because of our long, fruitful and cordial relation with TCS, Our college student had been getting best student award from TCS continuously for the past 5 years.

The award is given by the leadership team from TCS during their career day celebration in college. The award carries one gold medal, cash of 10000/ and a merit certificate.

Indian Airforce Organised Special Induction Road Drives/Induction Publicity Drives in our college.

Such special induction road drives are conducted by IAF in only reputed Education institutes across the country to reach out to students towards enhancing their awareness of IAF. Our college was indeed privileged to be a nodal center for special publicity drives conducted by INDIAN AIRFORCE on 2-11-2016. 16 colleges from Karnataka were supposed to send their students (50 from each college) to participate in the event at our college. The event was hosted by our college in an excellent manner and our hospitalities, whole-hearted manpower support, infrastructural facilities etc was widely appreciated by the IAF authorities.  The main attraction of the event was a specially designed “INDUCTION PUBLICITY EXHIBITION VEHICLE” to showcase various career-related information.

  • “Innovation Challenge Seminar” Free seminar Conducted by   Accenture in our college on   5th Sept-2017 to create awareness among the students about Technological innovation and future challenges in IT industries and how to meet these challenges. The target audience were 3rd and 5th sem students.
  • Free Seminar by Manya Education on Higher Education was conducted on 7th NOV-2017. This seminar was conducted to create awareness among the students who are planning to tap global higher educational opportunities. It was attended by prefinal and final batch students.
  • Free Seminar on “Mastering company specific aptitude test” was conducted BY CAREER LAUNCHER ON 02 MARCH-2018. Eminent aptitude trainer from career launcher conducted the event.

Report On Training And Placement Activities

Training and placement cell of SIR MVIT is headed by a very senior officer in the rank of Director with defence background from INDIAN AIR FORCE. The T&P Cell is very effectively engaged in grooming/shaping the career of students by inviting top to top companies to college and by preparing/grooming students through needed soft skills, holistic development of their personality, inculcation of professional ethics etc.

In order to bridge the gap between company expectations and academic learning and to develop holistic personality of the students for making them employable at all the times, the
DIRECTOR: Training and placement formulated 7 phased training module with his more than 40 years of experience on HR & HRD related activities, His long interaction with hundreds of top corporate bodies and the feedback received from the companies after campus recruitment drive. The training is imparted and inculcated to prefinal students by Director himself before the commencement of placement season for these students. The class room training is followed by unlimited counselling and mentoring session conducted by Director himself.

The 7 phased training schedule covers the following points:

  1. Awareness about the expectations of the corporates from freshers, indicating the gaps between company expectations and academic learning and how to bridge the same.
  2. Teaching students the technique to analyse, identify and develop their individual building block (critical competency, core skills and critical behaviour) to match the company expectations in campus recruitment drive.
  3. Developing verbal and nonverbal communication with special emphasis on 6C’s of communication (clarity, completeness, correctness, conciseness, confidence and courtesy).
  4. Tips and technique to crack virtual telephonic interview and on-line test.
  5. Developing Emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, managerial, leadership and team skills.
  6. Developing positive attitude and meaningful perception with special attention on the concept of – ‘Nature prevails over nurture”.
  7. Continuous Value addition requirements for self and the organisation and the need of inventing one’s own superlatives to gain competitive advantage in tough job market situation also.
  8. Full counselling for overcoming inferiority /superiority syndromes and undue hesitant approaches towards the solution of the problems.
  9. Tips and technique for successful carving one’s niche in group interactive session/group discussion.
  10. Extensive mentoring session for boosting the morale and motivation.

The placement scenario of the college is extremely good. Even during worst corona crisis and lock down situation we could manage to place 71% students by convincing the companies to conduct the drive-in virtual mode, as during lock down situation the students were available at their native places across the country. Connecting the students located at far off places with the companies was the most difficult task but we faced the situation boldly by virtue of our strong conviction and shaped the career of our students in such unprecedented critical condition also.

Most memorable achievements:

  1. 03 Mechanical students got placed in Lam Research Company with salary of 1135971 /-Eleven lakhs thirty-five thousand nine hundred, seventy-one per annum. This indeed is an amazing record created by Training and placement cell by bringing Mechanical Engineers on par with IT branches in terms of quality and compensation package of the company.
  2. NOKIA selected 20 students from computer and Electronic streams with salary of 08 lakhs twenty thousand per annum.
  3. Companies which covered all the branches and number picked up:COGNIZANT—-88, ACCENTURE—69, TCS—52, L&T INFOTECH: 54
  4. 11 civil Engineering students recruited by NAGARJUNA Constructions.

2023 – 2024:

Most Memorable Achievements As On Date

  • Despite acute slowdown in the market companies like Ritih Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Temenos, Accenture, and Stratogent Technologies picked up students ranging between 14 to 31.
  • Mechanical & Civil Students between 5 to 15 numbers were picked by respective core companies, this includes 03 Mechanical students placed in Bosch ltd and 05 Civil engineers placed in Data Corp Traffic pvt ltd.
  • 03 Companies above 11 lakh Package per annum conducted campus (Amadeus lab, Target inc, Kickdrum)

2024-25: IN PROGRESS……… till date 265 students across the branches have been placed. Drive by TCS & Cognizant has already been completed and their result is expected any time.

There are many companies in which the student registration has been completed and their drive may take off at any moment.

Till date the most memorable achievements of the year is given below:

  1. The highest package company till date was Kick Drum with CTC of 15,73,000 /- per annum followed by Tally Solutions with 12,98,000/- per annum.
  2. There were 08 companies whose CTC was more than 06 LPA.
