Birac Innovators Award 2021

Dr Priya Narayan, Associate professor, Dept. of Biotechnology, Sir MVIT and Dr. Mousami Mondal, and Team from Mallipathra Nutraceutical Private Limited, Incubatee @ Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology for winning the BIRAC Innovator award -2020 during the award ceremony of the “Global Bio India 2021 held on 3rd March 2021.

About Innovation: The Company has developed a novel process for growing the world’s costliest endangered medicinal mushroom cordyceps in an artificial environment which grows much faster than the naturally available cordyceps. The innovation involves   a process of growing these mushrooms on both vegetarian and non-vegetarian substrates which is on par with the naturally grown Cordyceps in terms of active ingredients. The company has developed various formulations like health drinks, infusions, capsules etc., comprising of cordyceps for nutraceutical applications
