
The Civil Engineering Department is a recognized research centre under VTU and offers Part-time and Full-time Ph.D. and M.Sc. Engineering by Research programs. The department is committed to provide dynamic experience through its team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, which includes a blend of experienced seniors with dynamic youngsters. The curriculum is designed to integrate strong foundational concepts with practical applications, providing a holistic approach to education.
Students benefit from project-based learning, hands-on workshops, field visits, and guest lectures by industry experts. Faculty members guide student projects, encouraging innovation and technology application. State-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including Surveying, Building Materials and Testing, Concrete Technology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Highway Engineering, and Software Application Lab equipped with advanced software’s like Autocad, E-Tabs, BIM and QGIS provide hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for industry demands.
Active participation in Student chapters like ICI, ISTE, Nirmana Forum, and the Eco Club promotes collaboration and environmental awareness. MoUs with industry partners provide opportunities for internships, industry visits, and hands-on training, bridging academic learning with real-world applications. Graduates from the department secure placements in Core companies, multinational corporations, and civil services, reflecting the department’s commitment to academic and professional excellence. - PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems.
