Department of Telecommunication Engineering
(Accredited By NBA / AICTE, Grade Awarded 'B')
The Aim of the Department is to produce Telecommunication Engineers, who combine academic excellence with practical expertise. To achieve this aim, well equipped laboratories and a central library support students throughout their course of study. The Department has 13 teaching and 07 non-teaching staff members. The academic courses cover fundamental and vital areas of importance, with electives permitting students from the 6th semester onwards to select courses which particularly interest them. Final year students carry out Research and industry-oriented projects in the 8th Semester. This rounds off their course of study. To give junior students a flavour of such activity, they are also encouraged to seek out and pursue projects with reputed Research and Industrial Organizations. This opportunity has been eagerly seized by several students of the 6th Semester.
The intake is 60 students in Telecommunication Engineering. The majority of our students have been well placed. Many of them were selected during their 6th semester itself in campus interviews. Some students have been admitted to post-graduate courses in institutions of repute and Universities in the US, UK and Europe. The departmental faculty and students have published papers at the National and International level. Four research scholars have registered for their Ph.D.
This year has seen typical performances by our final year students. In the Telecommunication Engg Department, 86% of the students who wrote the exam have passed. Of these more than 38% have got First Class with Distinction.
Eighty five percent (85%) off our students have been placed in leading companies like Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, CSE, Cognizant etc.
