Dr. Viresh K. Basalalli joined SIR MVIT as Principal of SIR MVIT on 01.10.2003.Before joining the institution, he has served many organizations/institutions in various capacities - UVCE, Bangalore, as Professor and Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vijaynagar Engineering College, Bellary, as Principal; Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, as Registrar; HMT I & II, Bangalore, as Special Officer, etc. He has around 39 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. He did B.E.(Mech) from Karnataka University, M.E.(Production Engineering) from University of Roorkee, Roorkee, and Ph.D. from IIT, Delhi. He has published and presented 74 research papers in both national and international journals and conferences. He has delivered 9 invited lectures on advanced technical subjects. He has guided more than 70 M.Tech. and 4 Ph.D. scholars. He is associated with many national committees and academic bodies. He is in the Governing Councils of many technical institutions.
