MBA Programme - The Department offers Two Year Postgraduate course leading to the award of MBA Degree from the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The Course is approved by AICTE, Delhi

The Differentiation- In pursuit of the mission of Sri Krishnadevaraya Education Trust – Transform Society through Quality education - the MBA Department of Sir MVIT aims to develop individuals to acquire all the required management talents to shoulder challenging responsibilities in the emerging corporate scenario in the country. We, at Sir MVIT believe that the future Manager must have an all round development and therefore, go beyond what is prescribed in the syllabus. The students are taught through specially designed orientation programs, case discussions, debates, business quizzes, seminars etc which form an exciting part of the co curricular activities. This ensures the required high quality of learning.

Course Contents- The course contents of the VTU is upgraded every three years to include the latest and emerging trends in management curriculum and modeled at par with the syllabi from the premier institutes. The last update was done in 2005.

Apart from core courses in Accounting, Marketing, Production, Quantitative Techniques, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management etc, specializations streams in Systems, Finance, Marketing, Banking & Insurance and Human Resources Management are offered in the second year.

Eligibility- The minimum requirements for admission to the MBA programme is a University degree in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering) with an aggregate of 50% of all the years.

In addition, a panel of specialists from the industries, banks and other corporate sectors take classes on specialized subjects.

Facilities - The Department has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory with all necessary Software and Internet Connectivity. A well stocked library and reading room serves the students’ need for both reference and text books. All the leading Business & Management Magazines and journals are subscribed to, for the use of the Students and staff.

Emerging Entrepreneurs is a programme launched at the Institute through which a systematic training is organized for budding Entrepreneurs. Regular interaction with young Entrepreneurs are arranged to enable the students to pick up the required skills.

Management Forum Activities- The Management forum ‘Yojaka’ ensures that the students get adequate exposure to the Industry, for their overall development. Guest lectures from practicing executives, seminars, personality development and training workshops are all part of the forum activity. Students are also encouraged to organize events, competitions etc.

Corporate Training is organized regularly for the practicing executives on subjects relevant to the industry by drawing expertise from the Faculty and also from outside. ‘Neuro Linguistic Programming for Managerial Effectiveness’ and ‘Negotiation skills’ are some of the Programmes organized by the Department.

Placement: Placement forms part of the MBA course at Sir M.VIT. The Department’s network with the Industry provides ample opportunity for the students. The Institute has a Placement Cell which has set an excellent record. The MBA graduates from previous batches have been placed at ICICI, Progeon, Dell, Standard chartered Bank, Thomson Financials, Bajaj Alliant, Accenture, Asian Paints, Airtel, Max Newyork etc.

The Campus: Located on a vast space of 50 Hectares on NH 7 is easily commutable from Bangalore city. The Campus in a green sil’van atmosphere has hostels for Boys and Girls, a well equipped 100 bed Hospital and a sports complex including a cricket field
