The Department produces Electronics Engineers with academic excellence and practical expertise. Well equipped laboratory facility and library supports the students throughout their course. The department specializes in vital areas of importance with its 27 teaching and 18 non-teaching staff. Under the same roof is another stream, TELECOMMUNICATION, with an intake of 60 students. Majority of students have been well placed, some of them at 6th semester itself. The department also runs a M.Tech (Electronics) program with an intake of 25. Five students of BE (ECE / TCE) & an M.Tech student have distinguished with ranks at university level.

This department has been recognized as an R & D Center by Visvesvaraya Technological University for carrying out research work for the award of M.Sc. (Engg.) and Ph.D. Six research scholars have registered for their Ph.D & M.Sc (Eng.) degrees.

The department faculty & students have published papers at National/International level.
85% of the students have been placed in leading companies like Infosys ,Wipro,Satyam, Cognizant etc.

The Department has been accredited with Grade "B" by National Board of Accreditation.

The department has its own seminar hall with DLP and OHPs and has a separate library. The department has IEEE student branch and a forum where special seminars are held to make students aware of latest developments in the relevant areas.
