MBA Programme- The Department offers Two Year Postgraduate course leading to the award of MBA Degree from the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The Course is approved by AICTE, Delhi.

The Differentiation- In pursuit of the mission of Sri Krishnadevaraya Education Trust – Transform Society through Quality education – the MBA Department of Sir MVIT aims to develop individuals to acquire all the required management talents to shoulder challenging responsibilities in the emerging corporate scenario in the country. We, at Sir MVIT believe that the future Manager must have an all round development and therefore, go beyond what is prescribed in the syllabus. The students are taught through specially designed orientation programs, case discussions, debates, business quizzes and seminars which form part of the co curricular activities.

Course Contents- The course contents of the VTU is upgraded every three years to include the latest and emerging trends in management curriculum and modeled at par with the syllabi from the premier institutes. The VTU Syllabus for MBA Course is updated for the 2008 batch.

Apart from core courses in Accounting, Marketing, Operations Management, Quantitative Techniques, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management etc, specialization streams in Finance, Marketing and Human Resources Management are offered in the second year.

Eligibility- The minimum requirements for admission to the MBA programme is a University degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 50% of marks for all the years.

Facilities – The Department has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory with all necessary Software and Internet Connectivity. A well stocked library and reading room serves the students’ need for both reference and text books. Besides, the Institute subscribes to leading Business & Management Magazines and journals.

Orientation Programme -The Course begins with an Orientation programme where the students are introduced to the Course through lectures, team games and group discussions. This is designed to give the Students an overview of the skills they are required to get to become successful Managers. The students are encouraged to participate in intercollegiate competitions and Programmes.

E-cell – The Institute has an Entrepreneur Development Cell which organizes various development programmes for the budding Entrepreneurs. Regular interaction with young Entrepreneurs are arranged to enable the students to pick up the required skills.

Management Forum Activities- The Management forum ‘Yojaka’ of the MBA department ensures that the students get adequate exposure to the Industry, for their overall development. Periodic Industry visits are also organized to enable students to get a real life experience. Guest lectures from practicing executives, seminars, personality development and training workshops are part of the forum activity. Students are also encouraged to organize events, competitions etc and also participate in intercollegiate competitions and Programmes.

Placement: The Institute has a Placement Cell which has set an excellent record. Walking hand in hand with the Students and guiding them to face the world is the Training and Placement Cell. It strives to provide a holistic approach and prepares the students to embark on a successful career. Imparting of soft skills, extra curricular training and counseling are a part of Training and placement cell activity. The MBA graduates from previous batches have been placed at ICICI, Progeon, Dell, Standard chartered Bank, Thomson Financials, Bajaj Allianz, Accenture, Asian Paints, Airtel, Max New York etc.

The Campus: Located on a vast space of 50 Hectares on NH 7 is easily commutable from Bangalore city. The Campus in a green sylvan atmosphere has hostels for Boys and Girls, a well equipped 100 bed Hospital and a sports complex including a cricket field.
