Activities of E-Cell from Apr. 2006(Inauguration month) to July 2007



• The inaugural ceremony of E-Wings took place on 19th April 2006 with over 400 students attending. Mr. Pradeep Kar, MD and Chairman of Microland was the chief guest for the occasion. Mrs. Laura Parkin, Executive Director, Wadhwani Foundation briefed the students on the working of NEN and their association with various institutions. Following shortly a student’s election took place, where posts of President, VP, Finance Head, Marketing Head, HR Head, etc. were taken up enthusiastically by engineering and MBA students.

• Plans and structures were created which led to our first event – an inspiring e-seminar titled Journey of an Entrepreneur, held on 24th May 2006 by Mr. Balaji Pasumarthy, Chief Catalyst of Business Gyan and Mr. Abdul Gaffar Sait, CEO of Basket Options.

• The following semester E-Wings members began working on projecting SIR MVIT e-cell further outside college, and also networking closely with other NEN colleges and NEN officials.

• E-Wings next conducted a creative business ideas workshop – The Spark on 17th November 2006. Moderated by Ms. Laura Parkin, the interactive workshop trained potential entrepreneurs on various aspects of idea generation while guest speakers Mrs. Sunita Maheshwari of Teleradiology Solutions and Mrs. Bharati Jacob of Seedfund inspired and educated the students on entrepreneurial ideas.

• E-Week Celebrations – 24th Feb – 3rd March, 2007 (Annexure –I) E-Cell, SIR MVIT were awarded as Champions of E-week -2007

• Sri S. Satish Chandra, Chief Coordinator of E-Cell attended Entrepreneurship Educators Course Module #1: “Orientation Program” held at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore on 23rd June 2007

• Sri S. Satish Chandra, Chief Coordinator of E-Cell attended Entrepreneurship Educators Course Module #2: “Entrepreneurship Fundamentals” held at I.I.M., Bangalore from 3-5 July 2007
